I love books regarding American politicians. They seem to be so colourful, so vivid and with a lot of history behind them and in the present context I thought this would be an ideal read.
It became actually a light, fun, more romance read than serious reading. I thought I was going in for a Presidential candidate (a woman) who would be facing tough fights against the usual MCPs and since there was an assassination attempt, I would also read about the inner workings of the FBI, Homeland Security et al. This was all in the book but the story was more a romance than anything else and for this it disappointed!
Our President is female, gay, was married to a woman, three children and now in a romantic relationship after a long gap. The romance was the highlight of the story and made for a pleasant read. It also made me realize that Americans are not so broad minded as they appear to be!!!!
